Hello Year 1
I hope you have all had a lovely half term break and have enjoyed the sunshine.
The classrooms for Group 1 and Group 2 are all ready and Mrs Serra and I are excited about seeing you again on Monday.

We have got lots of lovely activities planned for your return. Children will have the opportunity to talk about their feelings and experience of ‘lockdown’. They will also be able to create their own little learning buddy to help them adapt to their new environment.
During the week, we will be starting our new RE topic on Neighbours and looking at the work of CAFOD.
In English, we are going to be reading the story of ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. We will be exploring the characters in the book, creating a story map and retelling the story in our writing.
In Maths, we will be counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and measuring. We will begin by using a metre stick and then continue with measuring objects in centimetres.
Our topic, which is called ‘Going Wild’ is based around humans and animals with a Science focus.
Mr Simmonds will also be keeping us active with a daily PE lesson.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
